I am Savvy. I work on the cost of things people do not think of as costs — always being reachable, always doing a bit more than is needed, never quite finishing because it could still be better.

Some of that shows up at work: the decision you have postponed for months, the standard you set for yourself that no one asked for, the effort nobody claps for. Some of it shows up at home: the conversation with your parents you keep not having, the silence around money, the relationship that needs repair and does not get it. I do not think these belong in separate boxes. The same instinct runs through all of them.

I will not tell you to care less. I will ask you what you are buying with the effort, and whether the price is one you would accept if someone named it out loud.
